Rumen first qualified in Bulgaria as a veterinary surgeon and started working in the UK from 2007, he has been working with Medivet for quite a while now being our most senior vet and Lead Vet of the practice.

Elena Pena Rivero

Veterinary Surgeon

Elena studied in Spain and qualified in 2020, she has been with Medivet since 2021.

Sara Barbosa

Veterinary Surgeon

Sara qualified from the University of Lisbon in Portugal as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2020. She worked in general practice in a hospital environment for a year in Portugal before moving to the UK and has been with Medivet since 2021. Her main areas of interest are Internal Medicine and Ultrasonography and has completed her Official Veterinary Certification which allows her to issue Travel Health Certificates. In her spare time she enjoys hikes, climbing and travelling as much as she can.

Jade Smith

Veterinary Surgeon

Jade graduated in 2019 from her hometown with the University of Nottingham. She has been with Medivet since graduating and has a special interest in Small Animal Medicine. Outside of work she loves swimming and spending time with family.

Morena Ferraro

Veterinary Surgeon

Morena has been with Medivet since late 2022. She graduated from the University of Pisa, Italy in 2007 and moved to the UK shortly after. She really enjoys the surgical field and caring for all your lovely pets. In her spare time, she enjoys rock climbing and running.

Marie Holt

Head Veterinary Nurse

Marie has worked as head veterinary nurse at Sherwood, Arnold and Netherfield branch since 1992. She holds a Veterinary Nursing Certificate in Animal Behaviour. She has worked at an obedience training club since 2002 progressing from helper to trainer. She has grown up around many animals and owned many dogs over the years. The dogs she currently has are two lovely Weimaraner’s called Tarn and Bay. In Feb 2017, she was invited to China to give a lecture to veterinary surgeons and nurses to help improve the handling, care and standards of veterinary practice. They managed to make some great changes and from the feedback she has had since returning to the UK there are groups of people setting up governing bodies equivalent to our British Veterinary Nursing Association to help recognise the role and improve the standard of care including the behaviour and handling of animals in China. Her greatest achievement in the dog training industry is being awarded the title KCAI(cd), which means she is a Kennel Club Accredited Instructor in companion dog training. She is also a Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme Bronze, Silver and Gold A list examiner and has passed her judging certificates in KC Rally.

My names Debbie, I have worked here at Sherwood since 1996! I then became qualified in 2010. I love my job and working with the great team of people we have here. I am married with 2 children, a St Bernewfie called Saffy and a Ragdoll called Hugo. I absolutely love meeting all your animals and building bonds to ensure they, and you feel at home in our practice. I love all aspects of my job which includes; theatre, x-rays, dentals, consulting and looking after in patients. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, going to the cinema, theme parks, parks etc. I like going on lovely dog walks and finding new places to explore. I look forward to seeing you all in practice soon!

Hi my name is Brittany. I have worked for Medivet since 2017 and qualified as an RVN in 2021. I grew up on a farm in Canada so love all animals big and small but have a special place in my heart for cats. At home I have two older cats and I'm married with two young children who share my love for animals. I originally studied fine art in Canada so still love to paint in my spare time. I also enjoy going to farms, wildlife parks, zoo's and aquariums with my family for a fun day out.

Giulia Fanzio

Student Veterinary Nurse

Giulia (pronounced Julia) is currently studying to become a registered veterinary nurse at college. She particularly enjoys the consulting and patient care part of the job, doing her very best to make your pet feel comfortable with us. In 2020, she achieved her BSc in Animal Sciences at the University of Nottingham, completing a dissertation on the links between obesity and arthritis in dogs. She grew up in Italy and moved to the UK in 2017. She shares a home with her partner and rescue dog Buzzby. In her free time, she enjoys going for lovely walks, knitting and cooking.

Patient Care Assistant

Cali has been one of the patient care assistants with the Medivet since early 2022. She studied animal science and care for 2 years before joining the practice and is aspiring to become a registered veterinary nurse. She enjoys anything surgical and caring for inpatients, making sure they are comfortable during their stay with us. At home she has two mischievous pets, a cat called Charlie and a rabbit called Panda.

Katie Freeman

Student Veterinary Nurse

Katie started at Medivet in 2021. Before this she studied Wildlife Conservation at university and hopes to one day combine this with vet nursing. At home she has 2 cats called Poppy and Cleo and in her spare time she likes to scuba dive. One of her cats Cleo loves to go for walks with her in the country side and to the beach!

Jon-Luke studied Forensic Science at college and then went into Animal Biology at university. He loves nature and wildlife and his hobbies consist of hiking and wildlife photography.

Nicola Toovey

Veterinary Nurse

I have been with Medivet for over 10 years. I am looking forward to developing nurse clinics and enjoy looking after your pets when they are in with us. I have a keen interest in medicine and diagnostics. At home I have a Chihuahua called Dolly, 2 French Bulldogs called Rudi and Teddy, a Ragdoll called Freya, and 2 Moggies called Mabel and Colin. I qualified in 2021 and have been in Veterinary Practice since 2013. I am a Nutritional ambassador and diabetic advisor. I have completed my Exotics study and I am about to start my Medical Certificate in Nursing!

Debbie has worked at Medivet Sherwood and Arnold for nearly 20 years. She has 2 Chihuahuas called Lulah and Deni. In her spare time, she enjoys walking, especially with the dogs and socialising with friends.

Sarah Cheetham

I have worked in this lovely building for over 30 years. I love to spend time with my family, especially my granddaughter Darcie. I have a Dachshund named Parsley who I love going on walks with, but he isn’t so keen now as he gets into his retirement age.
